Production of Bio-inseticide Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis in Semicontinuous Processes Combined with Batch Processes for Sporulation

چکیده
The aim of this work was to study the production of the bioinsecticide using the aerobic cultivation. Two-stage cultivation process was used: aerobic vegetative growth and end-phase of sporulation (with aeration and without aeration). The cuts of working volume evaluated were 20, 40, 60 and 80 %. The highest value of spore concentration (2.17x10 CFU/mL) and spore productivity (7.2x10 CFU/mL.h) were observed using SP60. The lethal concentration (CL50) obtained through the aeration process and non-aeration process were 0.21 and 0.05 mg/L, respectively. The specific potential of the bioinsecticide produced without aeration (0.025 mg/10 CFU) was two times higher than that obtained with aeration (0.05 mg/10 CFU).

Coconut water as a cheap source for the production of delta endotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis, a mosquito control agent.
Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (B. t. i.) is being widely used in mosquito control programs. However, the large-scale production of this bacillus is expensive due to the high cost of the production medium. In this study, we attempted to develop a cost-effective medium, based on a locally available raw material namely coconut water which is available in plenty as waste product from coco...
متن کاملInfluence of Carbon and Nitrogen Sources on the Growth and Sporulation of Bacillus thuringiensis var Galleriae for Biopesticide Production
The influence of glucose and yeast extract (YE) as carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively, on the metabolic processes involving growth, insecticidal protein synthesis and sporulation were studied in batch bioreactor. Significant changes in the metabolic process were observed with different concentration level of glucose and YE. Higher concentration of glucose has resulted in heterogenous pop...

In the present study we attempted to correlate the structure and function of the cry11a (72 kDa) and cry4a (135 kDa) proteins of Bacillus thuringiensis var israelensis. Homology modeling and secondary structure predictions were done to locate most probable regions for finding helices or strands in these proteins. The JPRED (JPRED consensus secondary structure prediction server) secondary struct...
متن کاملComplete sequence and organization of pBtoxis, the toxin-coding plasmid of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.
The entire 127,923-bp sequence of the toxin-encoding plasmid pBtoxis from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis is presented and analyzed. In addition to the four known Cry and two known Cyt toxins, a third Cyt-type sequence was found with an additional C-terminal domain previously unseen in such proteins. Many plasmid-encoded genes could be involved in several functions other than toxin pr...
